Kultur - Piano

Good entertainment

Especially here, where Europe has its western end, we are particularly keen to give culture a space. Creative and inspiring lectures and performances in words and music, tailored to our guests from German-, English- and Spanish-speaking countries, can be experienced up close at OCÉANO. A stimulating mix of entertainment and reflection makes the days on the island even more meaningful and lasting.

Regular jazz soirees with local and well-known jazz greats from the island provide musical variety. Look forward to inspiring performances in a relaxed atmosphere – depending on the weather, “open air” high up on the roof terrace or in the garden, surrounded by palm trees and a view of the Atlantic.

Concert

Schelberg Trio - Bernadette Schachschal (Flute), Lukas Helbig (Cello) & Guest: Thomas Haberlah (Piano)

21/11/2021 - 28/11/2021
Schelberg Trio - Bernadette Schachschal (Flute), Lukas Helbig (Cello) & Guest: Thomas Haberlah (Piano)

The Schelberg Trio is a piano trio from Hanover, which is unique in the instrumentation with flute, cello and piano.

Bernadette Schachschal, Lukas Helbig and Tatiana Bergh have thrilled their audience for years with passion and fire of romance as well as expressive music of the 20th century. The trio lets „colorful hymn-like emphasis and late romantic feelings glow“, indulges in lyricism and poetry“ and touches with “sound-intensive play (Die Rheinpfalz Newspater, May 2016).

Bernadette Schachschal, who completed her studies in Karlsruhe and Lukas Helbig who went from Dresden over Paris to Hannover to persue his musical education, are employed as deputy solo flautist and cellist with the Lower Saxony State Orchestra at the Hanover State Opera. In their performances at the OCÉANO, Thomas Haberlah will take Tatiana Bergh’s place at the piano as guest pianist.

Look forward, among other things, to an evening of tango with music by the master of Argentine tango nuevo Astor Piazzolla, who would have turned 100 this year. The main work of this evening will be “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires”.
